GETTING MEASURED
FOUR WAYS TO GET THE PERFECT FIT
Getting accurate measurements is one of the most important steps in having custom clothing made. Regardless of which option you choose to get your measurements, here are a few reminders of what to do to ensure you get the best possible results.
WEAR THE RIGHT CLOTHES
Whether going to your local tailor or taking your own measurements, try to wear clothes that fit you well. We recommend wearing dress pants, dress shoes, and a collared shirt or t-shirt. If you have a blazer you love, bring that along too. These will all help determine your preference for such measurements as waist, outseam, cuff, jacket length, etc.
FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS
We know that in general, guys don't like to follow instructions; we're the same way. However, attention to detail is essential for a proper fit. We have included a comprehensive measurement guide with instructions and pictures. Pay close attention to our "typical ranges" to check each of your measurements.
OFF THE BODY MEASUREMENTS
Remember that all measurements should be taken "off the body" meaning that the measuring tape should be snug around your body and should not factor in any allowance.
